There are several conditions that overlap and interplay between Respiratory and Endocrine systems. Kantroo et al. coined the portmanteau “pulmocrinology” to describe this, which they defined as “the bidirectional, multifaceted clinical interactions between the pulmonary and endocrine systems.” This paper intends to give an overview of some of the most important conditions that interact between the two systems, as well as risk factors that can lead to overlapping respiratory and endocrine diseases.
