Cystic diseases of the Lungs

Cystic lung diseases (CLD) are a well-recognised group of lung disorders characterised by the presence of multiple cysts (air-filled lucencies). Patients with CLD may present with spontaneous pneumothorax, breathlessness, cough and at times due to associated conditions. Chest radiograph and a CT scan of the thorax done for other reasons may pick up asymptomatic patients. This review article summarises the 5 recognised CLD.
